New Mexico Military Institute is known as a school with really big sports success. Football, volleyball, baseball, track and field, are just some of the sports in which cadets can participate. One of them is tennis too. This year's tennis team consist from around 20 male and female players. Men's team coach is Daneric Hazelman, and women team's coach is Dan O'Conell. The New Mexico Military Institute Bronco Tennis team competes at Division 1 level in the NJCAA's Region V, along with two other schools: Temple College and Collin College. Women's team also play with North Central Texas college. Games are usually played in Texas, where team participated in different tournaments and made really good results. Christian Duchnak plays number 2 in Bronco men's team. He is from Pago Pago, and he came to NMMI thanks to tennis scholarship. "Personally as a player, the tennis program has been a
success throughout this year and the previous years. Hopefully next
year our team will be on top," says Duchnak about this season which is still in process. Next weekend team play in Plano, Texas to participate in the regional championship. Team got a big opportunity to work and train really hard since the tennis courts have recently been renewed. "Our coaches are really great and they help us a lot," says Duchnak, which sister Leilani also participate in Bronco women's team.
